Cropwyse ("Cropwyse," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Cropwyse mobile application and website at cropwyse.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our services.

By using Cropwyse, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

• Email address and authentication credentials
• Display name and profile details you choose to provide
• Profile photo and showcase images you upload
• Sign-in method (email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google)

Garden and app content

• Growing zone, city, region, country, and ZIP/postal code you enter
• Plants on your Growlist, bed layouts, seed trays, and planting plans
• Garden tasks, harvest logs, harvest photos, seed inventory, and expense records
• Marketplace listings you create (including title, description, photos, price, and location labels)
• Community posts, comments, and other content you submit
• Messages and prompts you send to our in-app AI assistant

Location information

With your permission, we access your device location to show local weather, personalize planting guidance, and improve location-based features such as marketplace browsing. We store general location details you provide (such as city, region, and growing zone). Precise GPS coordinates are used in the moment for weather and may be associated with marketplace listings only when you choose to include location on a listing.

Device and usage information

• Device type, operating system, app version, and language settings
• Log and diagnostic data needed to operate, secure, and improve the service
• Subscription and purchase status processed through Apple

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide planting calendars, weather, tasks, tips, and other garden features
• Store and sync your garden data across devices
• Enable marketplace listings, community features, and profile sharing
• Process subscriptions and deliver Pro features
• Respond to support requests and communicate service updates
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Improve and develop new features

3. AI Features

Cropwyse includes AI-powered features (such as garden planning assistance and climate zone suggestions). When you use these features, the content of your prompts and relevant garden context may be sent to third-party AI providers to generate a response. Do not submit sensitive personal information you do not want processed for this purpose.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With service providers that help us operate Cropwyse (such as cloud hosting, authentication, storage, and AI processing), subject to contractual protections
• With other users when you choose to make content public (profile information, marketplace listings, community posts, shared profile links)
• With Apple for in-app subscription and payment processing
• For legal reasons if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
• In a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law

5. Third-Party Services

Cropwyse relies on third-party services that may process your information, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions, and WeatherKit weather data
• Google — optional Google sign-in and AI services where enabled

These providers have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention).

7. Your Choices and Rights

• Account settings: Update profile and garden information in the app
• Location: Control location access in your device Settings
• Photos: Control camera and photo library access in your device Settings
• Delete account: Permanently delete your account from Profile settings in the app
• Marketing: We do not send promotional emails unless you opt in

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Cropwyse is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Users

Cropwyse is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
